The men's and women's teams of Atletismo Alcorcón are gearing up for the National Clubs League of First Division, with the ambitious goal of ascending to the highest category of Spanish athletics.

The new edition of the National Clubs League of First Division, the second most important category at a national level, will kick off on Saturday, April 25. Atletismo Alcorcón will have representation in both the men's and women's categories, with the clear objective of reaching the Honor Division, despite the high competitiveness of rival teams.
The women's team will travel to Motril (Granada) to compete against El Sur Cooperativa La Palma, Capex, and UCAM Cartagena. Meanwhile, the men's team will head to Oviedo, where they will face the Universidad de Oviedo, Celta, and Narón.
Both teams will be aiming for victory in this opening round, as a strong initial result is crucial for accumulating points that will carry over throughout the competition and are decisive for promotion chances. The men's team's poor performance last season, with a bad start, serves as a warning for this year.
The positive news is that both teams arrive without significant absences and are strengthened after their outstanding performance in the recent Madrid Gold League, held at the Vallehermoso stadium. In that competition, the Atletismo Alcorcón men's team secured second place and the women's team third, a result generally considered positive, although slightly more was expected from the women's team.

"The club's growth at all levels, including institutional and federative, is increasingly evident."

This growth is reflected in the inclusion of the club's president and coach in the technical staff of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA) for the World Relays Championship, which will take place in Gaborone (Botswana) on May 2 and 3.
