The initiative aims to promote shared responsibility in maintaining common spaces, such as parks, gardens, and sidewalks. According to the council, using bags for the immediate collection of waste is essential to ensure a cleaner and more pleasant urban environment for all residents.
The current municipal regulations, set out in the Ordinance on the ownership and protection of animals, expressly prohibit animals from depositing waste in areas intended for pedestrian traffic. If this occurs, the person responsible for the animal is required to clean it up immediately.
Failure to comply with this rule is considered a minor offense. The penalties range from a formal warning to a fine of 750 euros, depending on the severity and circumstances of the case as established in the ordinance.
