The Pelayos de la Presa City Council has taken a significant step in local security by signing collaboration protocols with the State Security Forces and Corps, the Local Police, and the Civil Guard for its incorporation into the VioGén system.

The establishment of the Local Security Board in Pelayos de la Presa marks the beginning of the procedures for the municipality's adherence to the comprehensive monitoring system for victims of gender violence, known as VioGén. This system aims to offer more effective protection to victims.
To formalize this incorporation, the Consistory has signed two key protocols: one for collaboration between the State Security Forces and Corps and the Local Police, and another for coordination with the Civil Guard. Additionally, a coordination table has been established between both bodies to ensure joint and effective action.

"Hopefully, this region will become the first Autonomous Community where all municipalities with sufficient Local Police staffing are fully incorporated into the VioGén system."

The meeting, which completed the initial steps for integration into VioGén, was chaired by the government delegate and the mayor. It was attended by members of the municipal government team, representatives of the Civil Guard and the Local Police, as well as delegates from the Community of Madrid.
During the session, the municipality's security data was analyzed. The crime rate in 2025 stood at 57.28 points, representing a decrease of 1.88 points compared to 2024. However, so far in 2026, an increase in criminality has been observed, especially in crimes against property. This rise is attributed to a greater detection of crimes thanks to improved surveillance and reporting systems.
