The main objective of this initiative is to restore, as quickly as possible, the safety and functionality of these routes once emergency operations conclude and the situation allows specialized teams to access them for execution. The regional government will intervene on a total of 13 roads within the regional road network.
The actions will focus on routes such as the M-501, M-507, M-510, M-512, M-521, M-531, M-533, M-537, M-539, M-540, M-541, and M-855, affecting various sections in municipalities including Aldea del Fresno, Villa del Prado, Navas del Rey, San Martín de Valdeiglesias, Pelayos de la Presa, Robledo de Chavela, Santa María de la Alameda, Colmenar del Arroyo, Valdemaqueda, Peralejo, Fresnedillas de la Oliva, Valdemorillo, and Chapinería.
The plan includes the replacement and renewal of vertical signage, restoration of road markings and paint, rehabilitation of the road surface and asphalt, as well as the replacement of beaconing elements and containment systems damaged by fire or high temperatures.
Furthermore, cleaning and debris removal, inspection of verges and ditches, and repair of road infrastructure elements damaged by fire, heat, or smoke will be carried out. Technicians will also assess damage caused by the intensive use of emergency vehicles and heavy machinery during firefighting operations.
Work will be executed progressively, prioritizing sections based on the extent of damage and safety needs. The General Directorate of Roads will establish the intervention order following a technical assessment of each road. The ultimate goal is to restore mobility, enhance road safety, and return the road network to optimal circulation conditions.
