The Sierra Norte Regional Humanities Center in La Cabrera presents a cultural agenda for May 2026 spanning various artistic disciplines. The film, featuring an international cast and recognized at festivals like Cannes and the European Film Awards, will be shown on Friday, May 22nd, at 7:00 PM in the Auditorium, followed by a discussion with film critic Javier Ocaña.
Family theater also takes center stage with the 4th Performing Arts Festival for Early Childhood Pies Inquietos. The company Vöel will present their play Nanuq on Saturday, May 23rd, at 6:00 PM. This timeless piece combines circus, dance, and puppetry to tell a story of friendship without barriers, specially designed for young children aged 2 and up.
Mountain and adventure take the spotlight on Sunday, May 24th, at 12:00 PM with a Cine Fórum dedicated to the La Cabrera Climbers Group and the Pou Brothers. The screening Aúpa Pou, Una vida encordados will review the life and adventurous journey of brothers Eneko Pou and Iker Pou, from their childhood to their expeditions worldwide. Admission is free.
In the visual arts, the exhibition Más allá del Olimpo: Arte y Mitología (Beyond Olympus: Art and Mythology), organized by the ARTECO Research Group from the UCM Faculty of Fine Arts, offers an immersive journey through the symbolic universe of myths via the work of contemporary artists from diverse cultural traditions. The exhibition, featuring techniques such as drawing, painting, and sculpture, will be open from May 8th to May 24th.
Complementing the artistic offerings, the exhibition Arte Intruso: canto de sirenas (Intruder Art: siren's song), by the collective Art4Now (formed by poet Vera Moreno and visual artist Artusnow), invites visitors into a dreamlike marine world. The exhibition, combining 18 digital photographs printed on aluminum with large-format poems, will be on display from April 22nd to May 24th at the Sierra Norte Regional Humanities Center.
