The Community of Madrid presents the documentary 'Del susurro del tiempo', a Spanish production from 2025 with a runtime of 127 minutes. The film, in its original Spanish version and not recommended for viewers under 12 years old, will be screened at the Sierra Norte Regional Humanities Center, located at Av. de la Cabrera, 96, 28751 La Cabrera, Madrid.
The work, conceived, directed, and edited by Marcos Zaván, with a script in collaboration with residents of Lavapiés, is a contemplative documentary. It was made by inviting neighbors to participate in the construction of a collective portrait of the neighborhood, organized chronologically to cover 24 hours a day over the course of a year. More than 150 people, aged between 18 and 70 and from diverse cultural backgrounds, responded to the open call.
The project emerged in response to the transformation of the Lavapiés neighborhood, marked by gentrification and touristification processes driven by investment funds and platforms like Airbnb. The creators aimed to leave a record of a multicultural coexistence model characterized by social commitment, tolerance, and mutual support networks, and as a message for reflection on the urban spaces we inhabit and the neighborhood relationships we build.

Small because it's made with what's available: the drive and effort of its director, producer, and editor, Marcos Zaván, and the entire team he involved in the project. Large because it shows many of the important things that happen to us without being pretentious at all."
The screening, which includes a presentation and debate with the director Marcos Zaván, will take place on Friday, January 9, at 7:00 PM in the auditorium. Admission is 2 euros and tickets are available at the box office and through the sales channel.
The Sierra Norte Regional Humanities Center is accessible via public transport with interurban bus lines such as 191, 194, 195, 196, and 197-B from Madrid (Plaza Castilla). For those arriving by private car, exit 60 of the A1 Madrid-Burgos is recommended, with a journey of approximately 35-45 minutes from the capital.
