The San Lorenzo de El Escorial City Council, in collaboration with the local Cruz Roja assembly, has launched the 'Travel with us towards your health' project, an initiative aimed at improving well-being and preventing diseases among residents.

The activity began on Tuesday, April 7, coinciding with World Health Day. A tent was set up in the Plaza de la Constitución, where a team of volunteers and health professionals from Cruz Roja offered various interactive activities. During the morning, health assessments were conducted, and personalized advice was provided to improve the well-being of attendees.
Participants who visited the tent received a 'healthy passport,' which they can stamp at future scheduled appointments throughout the year. These include events such as World No Tobacco Day on May 26, summer health tips on June 16, World First Aid Day on September 15, healthy eating workshops on October 13, and winter guidelines on November 24.

"Prevention is the best medicine. This initiative aims to encourage residents to care for their well-being, improving their habits to prevent diseases. From the City Council, we invite everyone, regardless of age, to participate."

Carlota López Esteban · Mayor of San Lorenzo de El Escorial
This new project complements 'Let's Talk About Health,' an existing initiative since 2025 that offers talks by health professionals in San Lorenzo de El Escorial. The collaboration extends to entities such as the San Carlos Primary Care Center, the El Escorial University Hospital, and private centers like Centro Médico Escorial, Fisioactiv, and Centro Integral San Lorenzo, thus enriching the community's health offerings.
