Four individuals were rescued this Saturday in the Sierra de Madrid after falling while hiking, sustaining minor injuries such as sprains and dislocations.

The incidents occurred in the towns of Cercedilla, Navacerrada, and San Lorenzo de El Escorial. The hikers, who were enjoying the mountain trails, experienced mishaps resulting in minor injuries, including ankle sprains and shoulder and knee dislocations.
Rescue operations involved active participation from Firefighters, Forest Agents, and medical personnel from SUMMA 112. The complexity of some rescues necessitated the intervention of the Special Mountain Rescue Group (GERA) in two instances, due to the difficult access to the areas where the affected individuals were located.

Emergencias 112 has reminded of the importance of being well-equipped. They also advise choosing routes appropriate for one's physical level. Furthermore, they recommend anticipating weather changes and carrying a charged mobile phone. This allows for requesting help in case of an emergency.

Following these events, the Emergencias 112 service has issued a series of essential recommendations for hikers. They emphasize the importance of proper equipment, selecting routes that match one's physical condition, anticipating potential changes in weather, and ensuring mobile phones are sufficiently charged to call for assistance in an emergency.
