The Moralzarzal Municipal Theater will host the acclaimed children's play La Maestra on Saturday, April 18, a production by Anita Maravillas & Portal71 that explores the importance of education and freedom in adverse contexts.

This performance, recommended for ages 6 and up, has been recognized with the Best Stage Design award at FETEN 2024, Spain's most prominent children's theater fair. The plot centers on a brave and optimistic teacher who champions freedom and the potential of each student, creating an ideal school in a forest, a place of learning based on mutual care and affection.
The narrative takes a dramatic turn when the outbreak of a war forces the teacher and her students to abandon their sanctuary. Through a visually stunning staging, the play invites reflection on loss, resilience, and the need to preserve educational values even in the darkest of times.
Lasting 55 minutes, the show is directed by Ivan Alonso Lerchundi and written by Miren Larrea, who also performs alongside Maren Basterretxea and Valentina Raposo. The set design, created by Calvito&Tupe, is a key element that transports the audience to this magical forest where freedom is the central theme of the story.
