The Guadarrama Associated University Hospital has launched a series of free workshops during April, aimed at patients, family members, and professionals, with the goal of improving the quality of care and offering practical tools.

This initiative, promoted through its ‘Caregivers' School’, seeks to provide essential knowledge on various aspects of caring for dependent individuals. The sessions, with limited capacity to ensure personalized attention, will take place in the hospital's teaching classrooms.
The workshop series begins on Wednesday, April 8, with the session 'How to manage delirium or confusional syndrome at home,' led by nurse Álvaro Romero Ajenjo. This workshop will offer practical tools for managing this condition in a home environment.
Subsequently, on Wednesday, April 15, nurse David Cardunets will lead the workshop 'How to adapt to my new caregiver situation,' exploring the stages of grief that can arise from significant family changes. On Wednesday, April 22, nurse Laura González Encinar will address 'Pain, how to relieve it,' providing guidelines for its management.
To conclude the month, on Wednesday, April 29, social worker Eva Hernández Martín will offer an informative session on 'Social procedures,' explaining available resources for situations of dependency. The Caregivers' School, active since 2011, has trained over 70 caregivers annually, improving the quality of life for both patients and families.
