“"After fifteen years of neglect and lack of road maintenance in the town, Mariola Vargas and her government team resort to the same old strategy: repaving quickly and hastily. No one disputes the need for these works, and we all expect that any construction causes inconvenience, but many of the current issues could be perfectly avoidable with minimal planning."

The Asphalt Operation in Collado Villalba has sparked controversy, with the local PSOE criticizing its execution due to a lack of planning, and the municipal government defending the progress of the works and the investment made.
The PSOE of Collado Villalba has expressed its dissatisfaction with the Asphalt Operation currently underway in the town's streets. While acknowledging the necessity of these works, the socialists describe the execution as “chaotic” and point out that it is causing numerous complaints among residents. They attribute this situation to a lack of planning, despite the project being scheduled for 2025 and delayed due to adverse weather conditions.
Among the complaints presented by the PSOE are unannounced street closures, work being carried out during peak hours causing significant traffic jams, and errors in road marking, such as the incident on San Antonio Street in Parque de la Coruña. They also denounce the elimination of parking spaces without prior notice and delays in painting road lines, which increases pressure in already congested neighborhoods.
For his part, the Councilor for Urban Planning, Adan Martínez, has responded to the PSOE's criticisms, reproaching their stance. Martínez has defended the good pace of the asphalt works, which represent an investment of 2.7 million euros and are expected to be completed by June. He added that work is also being carried out at night to take advantage of lower traffic density and facilitate the development of works in roundabouts.
Furthermore, the councilor announced that an additional 3 million euros for asphalt will soon be brought to the Plenary Session, as previously stated by Mayor Mariola Vargas, underscoring the municipal government's commitment to improving road infrastructure.
