This crucial infrastructure will serve the extension of line C-4b, stretching it from Colmenar Viejo to the municipality of Soto del Real. The procedure includes the acquisition of land ownership, as well as the imposition of easements and temporary occupations.
In total, over 26,000 square meters will be affected for direct expropriation, in addition to other areas designated for auxiliary uses during the works. The involved lands are rural and do not affect significant buildings, except for an old disused electrical center.
The public information period has already been opened, and property owners have been summoned for the preliminary act drafting, scheduled for June 2026. The new Soto Sur station, with a planned investment of 17.6 million euros, will be located on the site of the old Manzanares–Soto del Real station, within the Madrid-Burgos railway line.
The project includes the rehabilitation of the historic building, maintaining its original design and adapting it for new uses. The property will have two floors and over 400 square meters, housing spaces such as the lobby, ticket sales, and restrooms, incorporating sustainable solutions like solar energy and natural ventilation systems.
These facilities will be complemented by a cafeteria, technical spaces, and canopies for the platforms. A car park with over 500 spaces will also be provided, including reserved spots for people with reduced mobility.
The extension of line C-4b to Soto del Real is part of the Commuter Rail Plan, aiming to improve mobility in the metropolitan area and promote sustainable transport. This action joins other ongoing projects, such as the duplication of the Pinar de Las Rozas–Las Matas section or future extensions to other municipalities.
