The Casa Grande Municipal Library in Moralzarzal reaffirms its commitment to promoting reading and culture through a special program to commemorate International Library Day. As a highlight of the celebrations, taking place between October 22 and 24, the library will transform on Saturday, October 24, 2026, into the venue for the FLIC (Festival of Children's and Youth Literature and Arts).
FLIC is an itinerant project that invites children, youth, and families to experience literature from a different and innovative perspective. During the day, reading ceases to be solely an individual act and becomes a common territory for looking, touching, experimenting, playing, and creating together.
The event will run from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM and is aimed at families with children aged 3 to 12 years. Admission is free.
The library will host various activity stations adapted to different ages and creative sensibilities: 'Bestiary' (for ages 6 to 12), where invented literary animals will be created; 'Let's Play!' (for ages 3 to 12), featuring board games inspired by books; and 'First Literatures' (for ages 3 to 5), a symbolic play area for early childhood.
At 1:00 PM, there will be 'Tell Me', an inclusive storytelling session in Spanish Sign Language (LSE) led by the entity Handigrafia, ensuring accessibility for both deaf and hearing audiences.
Through initiatives like FLIC, the Casa Grande Library consolidates its role as a community meeting point and cultural laboratory in Moralzarzal, demonstrating that children's literature is a vibrant driver for fostering empathy, artistic sensitivity, and quality family leisure.
