The event, which has become deeply rooted in the local educational community, started with a torch relay through the four schools in the municipality: El Raso, San Miguel Arcángel, Leonardo da Vinci, and Fontenebro International School. Representatives from each institution carried the torch to the square, where they joined municipal authorities for the symbolic lighting of the flame.
The ceremony was attended by members of the Government Team, including the First Deputy Mayor and Sports Councilor, as well as the Education Councilor, who accompanied the schoolchildren on this festive day.
This year, the Olympics feature a refreshed visual identity thanks to the 2026 Olympic Mascot Contest. The students awarded for their creativity were recognized during the inaugural event.
The Navafría Sports City will be the hub of school sports activities from today until May 8th. Beyond mere competition, these Olympics aim to foster coexistence and the transmission of fundamental values among 4th, 5th, and 6th-grade Primary students through play and sport.
