During the gathering, the director general of Roads for the Community of Madrid, Natalia Quintana, provided details on the advancements in the preparatory studies for this infrastructure, which will connect Valdemorillo with Navalcarnero and Griñón via the M-404.
“"It is a priority for the Town Council that the new Southwest Madrid Highway truly solves Valdemorillo's traffic problems and materializes in the short term."
Work is currently underway on the Environmental Impact Statement (DIA) for the construction, which will span from the M-503 to the entrance of Valdemorillo. This process is crucial to ensure the project is both effective and environmentally responsible.
In addition to long-term solutions, immediate measures have been proposed to ease traffic flow. These include improving signage in problematic sections and implementing provisional solutions to reduce congestion at the municipality's entrances and exits to the M-600.
The meeting also addressed necessary improvements to two other regional roads within the municipal area: the M-959 and the M-510, aiming to enhance road safety for all users.
