Asphalt paving work on Alfonso Senra street in Guadarrama begins this Monday, July 13. These works will conclude the previous construction on the road and will require a total traffic cut, with the exception of buses and emergency vehicles.
The closure will affect the section from the roundabout with the M-614 to Doctor Fleming street. This measure aims to ensure the safety of workers and pedestrians. Bus passage will not be affected, maintaining the operation of stops and the service.
As a consequence of the paving works, parking will also be prohibited along the entire affected stretch to prevent damage to vehicles during the pavement milling and asphalting process.
The only area that will not receive new asphalt is a section between the first and second turrets of the Plaza Mayor. This is due to its proximity to the roots of the century-old elm tree in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, a decision made by technicians to protect the tree from the high temperatures of the asphalt.
The asphalt paving, scheduled from Monday to Friday, will complete the work carried out by the Canal de Isabel II for the complete renovation and modernization of the water supply network. This replacement, adaptation, and modernization of the network in Guadarrama aims to improve water efficiency and consumption.
