This initiative, created in collaboration with the Colectivo HUL, invites attendees to explore the book as a multifaceted object: a medium for knowledge and entertainment, a tool for play and fun, and a space for creation and self-discovery.
The event will be structured around three main areas: the creation zone named ‘Talleres Wais’, the exhibition of independent publications ‘SFW. Solo Fanzines Wais’, and the participatory scenic duel ‘Gigantes y Molinos’.
The program features five workshops for families, led by collectives and artists who will share their editorial processes and working methods. In ‘La merienda’ by Ay Ediciones, participants will create illegible books in homage to Bruno Munari, presented in a 'deli' style (morning session). Meanwhile, ‘Trompa, papel y pegatinas’, by Kit Caníbal, will offer an adventure focused on empathy, care, and respect for natural environments, including puzzles and the creation of personal artworks (morning session).
The workshop ‘Minicuento-fanzine-collage’, led by Marta Quijano, will focus on illustrating short stories using colored paper, magazines, scissors, and glue (morning and afternoon sessions). ‘Fanzine de bolsillo’, by Paw Salcés, will guide participants in creating portable stories through folding, drawing, and writing in a special portable creation workshop (morning and afternoon sessions). Lastly, ‘Atrapar cosas’, by Ruango, will encourage participants to go on an 'idea hunt,' observing, drawing, playing, mixing unrelated concepts, and learning to view things from different perspectives (morning and afternoon sessions).
The exhibition ‘SFW. Solo Fanzines Ways’ will showcase a selection of independent publications for all ages, ranging from comics and collage to artist books and proposals specifically designed for children.
The auditorium will host the scenic duel ‘Gigantes y Molinos’, an interactive event combining playful literature, improvisation theater, and live drawing, with audience participation (afternoon session only).
Tinta de los Molinos will have two sessions: a morning session from 11:00 AM to 2:15 PM, and an afternoon session from 4:00 PM to 7:15 PM. Tickets are available on the website www.espacioabiertoqm.es, with a portion also reserved for purchase at the center's box office on the day of the festival, starting one hour before each session.
