Citizen insecurity has become the central theme of municipal debate in Soto del Real, driven by the People's Party. The political party has put forward various proposals aimed at addressing the perception of insecurity among residents, particularly in light of the municipality's significant demographic growth.
Among the initiatives proposed by the PP is the expansion of the Local Police force and the reinforcement of night patrols. These measures seek to adapt police resources to the municipality's evolution and to the public's demand for a greater police presence. The party also advocates for increased participation in Local Security Boards to improve inter-administrative coordination.
Regarding infrastructure, a motion has been presented for the renovation of the Civil Guard barracks in Soto del Real. The party also requests an increase in the number of personnel for this security force, arguing that the current staff, which also covers Guadalix de la Sierra, is insufficient to meet the needs of both growing municipalities. The recent addition of eight trainee officers is considered a temporary solution, underscoring the need for permanent positions.
The People's Party insists that security should be addressed through long-term planning that ensures resource stability and response capacity in various situations, aiming to improve police coverage and institutional coordination to address the concerns of Soto del Real residents.
