The intervention focuses on a complete interior refurbishment, without affecting the building's structure, with the objective of updating the aesthetics and operational efficiency of the cafeteria. This space is essential for the social interaction of the municipality's most senior users.
Key actions include the installation of new high-resistance vinyl flooring with a wood-imitation finish, designed for continuous public use and easy cleaning. Walls and ceilings will be completely repainted, and PVC baseboards and decorative side vinyl will be added to enhance the venue's image.
Furthermore, electrical installations will be upgraded with the incorporation of new mixed outlets featuring 220V sockets and USB charging ports. Pre-installations for indirect lighting and telecommunications will also be carried out. Regarding carpentry, interior and exterior doors will be adjusted, dismantled, and reinstalled to ensure their perfect operation and airtightness.
“"In Moralzarzal, we know that the senior center is much more than a building; it's your meeting point. That's why we've started works to completely renovate your cafeteria. We are going to transform this space to make it more modern and welcoming."
The renovation addresses the wear and tear of the current flooring and finishes after years of use. With this investment, the City Council aims to guarantee improved habitability and hygiene of the space, full accessibility for all users, and technological adaptation with new power and data outlets.
The most impactful works are estimated to last approximately two weeks to minimize disruption to the center's users. During this period, the cafeteria and meal service will be relocated to the television lounge on the ground floor, with meal times from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
