The Local Police of Moralzarzal has officially integrated the Electronic Control Device (ECD), commonly known as a Taser, to improve safety and effectiveness in their operations.

The police force in Moralzarzal has added the Electronic Control Device (ECD), popularly known as a Taser, to its resources, marking a significant step in modernizing its intervention tools. This integration follows a formal request submitted by the union sections of CSIT UNIÓN PROFESIONAL and the Local Police Associated Union (P.L.A.) on February 18, 2026, addressed to the Chief Sub-Inspector.
The Taser devices, previously acquired with a grant from the Community of Madrid, are now being implemented to provide officers with an additional tool for high-risk conflict situations. The City Council emphasizes that this measure "contributes to reducing the use of more harmful means, thereby reinforcing police principles of proportionality, congruence, and opportunity."
To ensure proper and responsible use before the public, clear guidelines will be established, including strict adherence to current legislation, application of specific protocols, and exclusive use by duly trained and authorized officers.

An essential advancement in three key areas: the occupational safety of patrols, their legal protection during delicate interventions, and the modernization of the police force's equipment in the municipality.

Both CSIT and P.L.A. have positively assessed the measure, considering it an "essential advancement" for the occupational safety and legal protection of officers, as well as for the modernization of police equipment. The unions have reaffirmed their commitment to continue working for constant improvements in human and material resources to ensure a safer and more effective public service in Moralzarzal.
