Fire in a San Lorenzo de El Escorial home leaves several injured

A man has been airlifted to a hospital in serious condition after suffering burns in a fire this Wednesday.

A fire reported this Wednesday at a duplex on Manolo Viola Street, in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, has left one man seriously injured and three others affected.

The incident occurred around 1:30 PM. Five units from the Community of Madrid Fire Department arrived at the scene to extinguish the flames, which originated on the second floor of the property.
Medical personnel from SUMMA 112 treated a 33-year-old man who suffered burns covering 45% of his body. After being stabilized and intubated at the scene, he was airlifted to Getafe Hospital in serious condition.
Additionally, a 52-year-old woman and her two minor children were treated for mild smoke inhalation. All three were transported to El Escorial Hospital for further medical care.
The Civil Guard has taken charge of the investigation to determine the causes of the fire.
