The XVI Vuelta a La Jarosa, set to take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in Guadarrama, has sold out all its entries, solidifying its position as a significant sporting event in the region.

The presentation of the XVI Vuelta a La Jarosa was held in Guadarrama, where the Athletics Club and the City Council announced that, once again, the event has filled all its registration slots. The race will unfold in a natural environment offering a varied route through rockroses, pines, and streams.
The competition, starting at 5:00 PM, will feature 450 participants, adhering to the limitations imposed by the natural surroundings. While some well-known names may be absent due to professional commitments, prominent athletes such as Pilar Arias, a nine-time winner, and José María Gómez Santero are confirmed to participate. The top three finishers from the 2025 edition in both male and female categories will also be present. Among the older participants, a 76-year-old athlete has been confirmed.

"I want to thank everyone who makes it possible for the Vuelta a La Jarosa to surpass and improve each year, making this event a true benchmark, positioning itself as one of the most important and highly valued short trail races, not only regionally but throughout Spain. I believe that is part of our heritage, part of our wealth. I also want to thank the Community of Madrid, manager of the mountain and responsible for issuing the corresponding authorizations."

The Sports Councilor, for his part, emphasized the event's importance for promoting local tourism. He highlighted that sports not only foster physical health but also serve as a fundamental pillar for local development, attracting visitors who discover Guadarrama's tourism and commerce.

"For us, sport is not just physical health; it is a fundamental pillar for local development. When a runner comes to Guadarrama, they don't just come to run; they come to experience our tourism, our commerce, and our people. Thanks to our sponsors and collaborators, this race has become the perfect showcase for our tourism. Quality tourism and family tourism. This Government team has a clear priority: to place the family at the center; therefore, seeing events where parents and children share a love for sport and the mountains fills us with pride."

The Vuelta a La Jarosa offers a spectacular route of just over 9 kilometers, designed to be challenging but without excessive technical demands. It will run along well-maintained forest tracks and paths, as well as small mountain sections, including ascents, descents, flats, inclines, and torrents. A team of over one hundred people will be coordinated to assist participants throughout the entire course.
Both the start and finish lines will be located in the esplanade of the recreational area of the second kiosk, at the La Jarosa reservoir. Five different categories have been established: Senior (18 to 39 years old), Veterans A (40 to 44), Veterans B (45 to 49), Veterans C (50 to 54), and Veterans D (55 years and older). Prizes will be awarded to the top ten overall finishers, the top three in each category, the first local athlete, and the oldest participant, in both male and female categories.
The event is supported by the Guadarrama City Council, through its Sports Department, and various local businesses.
