Guadarrama Hosts the XVI Vuelta a La Jarosa, a National Benchmark Mountain Race

The competition, scheduled for Saturday, May 9, has sold out its 450 entries and will feature prominent athletes on a challenging natural course.

The XVI Vuelta a La Jarosa, a classic mountain race, will be held in Guadarrama on Saturday, May 9, drawing 450 runners from various parts of Spain.

The event, starting at 5:00 PM, will unfold in a natural setting characterized by rockrose, pine trees, and streams. Participation has been limited to 450 runners due to the terrain's specific characteristics, ensuring an optimal experience for all athletes.
Although renowned athlete Juan Antonio Cuadrillero will be absent due to professional commitments, the race will feature other prominent competitors such as Pilar Arias and José María Gómez Santero, promising an exciting day of sport.

The Vuelta a La Jarosa course, approximately nine kilometers long, is demanding yet accessible, featuring well-maintained forest paths and an itinerary that includes ascents and descents to add excitement to the encounter with nature. Over one hundred volunteers will assist runners throughout the race, with the start and finish located in the recreational area of the La Jarosa reservoir. Competitors will participate in five categories, from Senior to Veterans D, with special prizes for top finishers.
