The Community of Madrid has given the green light to the construction of 58 public homes in Guadarrama, with an investment of 14.2 million euros, to expand the social housing stock and facilitate access for vulnerable groups.

The Governing Council has authorized the tender for this project, which is estimated to have an execution period of 24 months. This initiative is part of a broader regional plan that seeks to increase the public assets managed by the Social Housing Agency by 2,100 units.
With this new development, Guadarrama joins other municipalities such as Majadahonda, Móstoles, Rivas-Vaciamadrid, Valdemoro, Villa del Prado, and the capital itself, where nearly 1,200 public homes are currently under development.
The new residential complex will be located on Vereda del Colmenar street and will consist of 34 three-bedroom homes and 24 two-bedroom homes, three of which will be adapted for people with reduced mobility. The urbanization will include parking spaces and energy efficiency systems, such as aerothermal heating.
Currently, the Social Housing Agency manages more than 50,000 properties in the region, providing accommodation to approximately 100,000 people. As a standard measure, new tenants will benefit from a reduced rent of 60 euros for the first three months after signing the contract.
