This third season of the event will take place at the historic Cuartel de Inválidos y Voluntarios a Caballo, a venue that has successfully hosted previous editions. The program will cover a wide range of topics, including Psychology, Documentation, Philology, Physical Sciences, and Artificial Intelligence, aiming to bring knowledge closer to the general public.
The series will commence on April 16 at 6:30 PM with the lecture Keys to psychological resilience in the face of life's adversities, delivered by Professor Carmelo Vázquez. This will be followed on April 23 by José Luis Gonzalo Sánchez-Molero's presentation, titled The Royal Library in El Escorial: a memory of the world in the Sierra de Guadarrama.
During May, two presentations are scheduled: on May 21, Rebeca Sanmartín Bastida will present The living saints, or how women born in the 15th century gained political and religious leadership. On May 28, Juan Pavón, an expert in Computer Science, will give a talk on How to make artificial intelligence your ally.
The closing of the series in June will include two more events. On June 11, Sara Fernández Guinea will discuss The aging brain: advances in early detection, prevention of emerging therapies. Finally, on June 18, Jacobo Santamaría Sánchez-Barriga, Professor of Physical Sciences, will conclude the event with his lecture A quantum twist: oxide twistronics, moiré, and chirality.
This free initiative by the Complutense Foundation underscores its commitment to scientific dissemination and research, strengthening the bond between the Complutense University and San Lorenzo de El Escorial. In addition to this series, the foundation also organizes the UCM Summer Courses, which will celebrate their 39th edition this year.
