Adif has officially awarded the contract for the construction of the new Cercanías commuter rail station in Soto del Real, with a total investment of 15.2 million euros.

The project will complete the C-4b line connection, improving transport links to Madrid for residents of Soto del Real, Miraflores de la Sierra, and Guadalix de la Sierra. This contract marks the beginning of the physical construction phase.
The plan includes the comprehensive restoration of the original passenger building, constructed in 1955 and designated as a Heritage Asset. The structure will retain its historic facade while being modernized to ensure universal accessibility.
Key improvements include new platforms with 80-meter canopies, an underpass equipped with elevators and stairs, and a new catering area. Additionally, a parking lot with 513 spaces will be built, including 16 spots reserved for people with reduced mobility.
The project is supported by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER), ensuring the viability of this sustainable infrastructure. This award follows other recent advancements in the regional Cercanías network, such as the upgrades at Chamartín Clara Campoamor station.
