The Pozuelo de Alarcón City Council has formalized an agreement with the Afanias association to implement a training internship program for unemployed individuals with intellectual disabilities, which will take place in various municipal facilities.

The agreement was signed last Tuesday by the mayor and the general director of Afanias, in an event also attended by the Councilor for Family and Disability Care, as well as one of the future participants in the program.
This agreement, valid for four years, is designed to integrate individuals enrolled in the training and employment insertion programs, projects, and itineraries managed by Afanias.
The Afanias association will be responsible for appointing a tutor to monitor and evaluate the internships. The tasks assigned to participants will range from supporting the organization of municipal events, such as award ceremonies and conferences, to assisting at the Teatro MIRA, among other duties.
According to a municipal statement, the City Council maintains ongoing collaboration with Afanias through various initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for people with intellectual disabilities.
Members of the association already actively participate in projects such as the Environmental Education Classroom, the Easy Reading program at the Rosalía de Castro Library, and the leisure and training workshops at Espacio Ocio Pozuelo, among other activities.
