The fire started around 1:00 PM on Camino de la Zarzuela, 41, beginning in an 'arizónicas' hedge of a residence. Subsequently, the flames spread to a nearby riverside vegetation area.
As a precautionary measure, some residents remained confined to their homes to avoid smoke inhalation while extinction efforts were underway.
Five units from the Community of Madrid Fire Department, personnel from the Community of Madrid Forest Firefighters, and three helicopters participated in the extinction operations. The fire was quickly stabilized.
SUMMA paramedics deployed three units preventively, although no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
