The Community of Madrid, through its Ministry of Economy, Finance, and Employment, has confirmed the downward trend in unemployment in Collado Villalba during the month of June. The total number of unemployed stands at 3,106 people, marking a reduction of 27 individuals compared to the previous month, reflecting a decrease of 0.86 percent.
By age groups, youth unemployment (under 25 years old) has experienced a notable reduction, standing at 5.25 percent, almost one point less than in May. The age bracket between 25 and 44 years accounts for 35.19 percent of the total unemployment, while individuals over 45 years old constitute 59.56 percent.
Regarding the gender distribution, women continue to surpass men in unemployment records, with a difference of just over 17 points. The percentage of female unemployment is 59.08 percent, compared to 41.40 percent for men, a gap that has narrowed by two points since January.
By economic sectors, Services remains the sector with the largest share of registered unemployment, exceeding 80 percent. It is followed, by a significant margin, by Construction with 7.69 percent, and the group of Previously Unemployed with 6.89 percent. The Industry (3.93 percent) and Agriculture and Fishing (0.61 percent) sectors show residual levels of unemployment.
The Collado Villalba City Council, through its Employment Area and the Employment Agency, actively works to mediate in the labor market. This public and free service aims to help unemployed individuals find job opportunities and assist companies in finding qualified personnel to meet their staffing needs.
