The Torrelodones Local Police is implementing the 'Safe Holidays' Plan for the fourth consecutive year, running from July 1st to September 15th, offering key custody and incident alerts for residents and businesses.

The Security Department of the Torrelodones City Council has launched the 'Safe Holidays' initiative, which will extend from July 1st to September 15th this year. The primary objective is to enhance the protection of homes and small businesses within the municipality during periods of absence due to vacations.
Through this program, the Local Police offers residents and business owners the option to entrust their property keys. This service enables officers to act in emergencies, contacting the affected individuals to inform them of any significant incidents, such as burglaries or accidents, and entering the property if necessary and with prior authorization.
The plan aims to prevent property crimes through police surveillance and control in various areas of the municipality. Among the recommendations provided, it is advised to only inform trusted individuals about absences, designate someone for routine visits, keep mailboxes clear, not disconnect alarms or doorbells, and avoid leaving valuables in plain sight.
The City Council will distribute an informative leaflet with specific advice for both businesses and residences, aiming to raise public awareness about preventive security measures.

"The plan's purpose is to allow residents the possibility that the Local Police, by holding their keys, can contact the owner of the home or business in case of any incident during their absence, ensuring 'they have the peace of mind of not interrupting their vacation period'."
