The project, which has been operating in the municipality for over a decade, allows Primary Education students to walk to their schools. The routes are supervised by specialized monitors who ensure the safety of the children during the journey from established meeting points.
The new addition for the 2026-2027 term is route number 4, which will connect the Shopping Center area with El Encinar school. This expansion joins the existing itineraries that cover various strategic points of the town, including areas such as Los Ángeles, Peñalar, Las Rozuelas, and the Casa de Cultura.
The main goal of this initiative is twofold: to promote healthy lifestyle habits and child autonomy, and to reduce traffic congestion near schools during peak hours. The program was recently recognized by the Community of Madrid during the good practices in health and sports sessions.
Trips are carried out punctually, with departures at 8:30 AM and returns at 4:00 PM. Families interested in enrolling their children can process the application through the forms available on the City Council's electronic office.
