The Torreforum Youth Zone in Torrelodones will be the venue for the II Chess Festival, taking place from September 18 to 27. The event, organized by the Torrelodones Chess Club in collaboration with the City Council, pays tribute to Ramón Torres Grajales.

Following the success of its first edition, the festival returns to the municipality with a program that includes various competitions. This year, the event is dedicated to the memory of Ramón Torres Grajales, a distinguished player of the Torrelodones Chess Club and a recognized member of the Madrid chess community. The festival will be directed by his son, Rafael Torres Samper, one of the club's most outstanding players.
The festival will span ten days and feature three independent tournaments to accommodate participants of different levels and modalities. A Rapid tournament and the Open Standard, divided into two groups based on participants' ELO ratings, will be held. Additionally, a tournament in the Arena Masnou format will take place.
The award ceremony for all tournaments is scheduled for Sunday, September 27, around 12:45 PM, at the Plaza de la Constitución. This event will mark the culmination of ten days dedicated to chess in Torrelodones.
Registration for interested individuals will remain open until September 16. All information regarding the II Ramón Torres Memorial Chess Festival, tournament rules, and registration forms are available on the Torrelodones Chess Club website.
