The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility initiated this week repair works on the pedestrian bridge at kilometer 31.600 of the A-6 highway in Torrelodones, with an investment of 285,735 euros and an expected completion by the end of August.

These works, scheduled to conclude by the end of August, primarily aim for a comprehensive upgrade of the infrastructure. The interventions include replacing the pavement and drainage system on the access ramps, as well as cleaning and repainting the entire pedestrian bridge structure.
Additionally, the handrails on the access ramps will be replaced, and the adjacent bus stop will be refurbished. This latter improvement involves installing a canopy and tactile paving, thereby enhancing accessibility for visually impaired individuals.

"The installation of these stairs will foreseeably lead to the closure of the right lane of both A-6 service roads between May and August."

a Ministry spokesperson
To ensure continuous pedestrian traffic during the works, especially on the access ramps which will require temporary removal of the flooring, provisional stairs will be installed. This measure will necessitate the closure of the right lane of both A-6 service roads, in specific sections, between May and August. However, bus stops will remain operational, ensuring that bus services are not affected.
The repair of this pedestrian bridge is part of a broader comprehensive maintenance contract for sector number 03 of the province of Madrid. This contract covers a total of 123 kilometers of roads and has a total value of 26.8 million euros. The work schedule may be subject to changes due to adverse weather conditions.
