A 65-year-old man has been arrested in Collado Villalba after allegedly stabbing his 62-year-old brother-in-law, who was reportedly assaulting the arrested man's sister. The victim was taken to Puerta de Hierro Hospital in Majadahonda in serious condition.
The incident occurred on Friday, April 10, around 2:42 PM, in a residence within the Valles urbanization in the Madrid municipality of Collado Villalba. According to investigative sources, the assault took place while the arrested man's brother-in-law was abusing his wife, who is the aggressor's sister.
The Guardia Civil confirmed the arrest of the Spanish national for the alleged knife attack. The victim sustained a deep cut to the abdomen and was stabilized by Summa 112 before being transferred to Puerta de Hierro Hospital in Majadahonda, where he remains hospitalized in serious condition.
Initially reported as a family dispute, Guardia Civil investigators are now considering it a potential case of gender-based violence, suggesting the arrested man intervened to protect his sister from an assault. The Guardia Civil Command has taken charge of the investigation, with the collaboration of local Civil Protection.
