The Puerta de Hierro-Segovia de Arana Research Institute (IDIPHISA) has provisionally secured funding for seven new research projects in the AES 2026 call, a key pathway for health research funding in Spain.

These projects, with a proposed funding of 1,368,250 euros, focus on key areas such as immunology, medical oncology, internal medicine, and preventive medicine. The provisional resolution was published by the Carlos III Health Institute.
Among the funded research are studies on preventing recurrent urinary tract infections through fecal microbiota transfer, developing immunotherapies for gastrointestinal tumors, and analyzing the epigenomic profile of follicular lymphoma to improve clinical risk stratification.
Other projects will address the effect of drugs on cardiovascular risk in lupus patients, identifying biomarkers in lung cancer, applying artificial intelligence to characterize clinical profiles and long-term cardiometabolic risk in preeclampsia, and analyzing the epidemiology of multidrug-resistant microorganisms in Spain.
The awards and amounts are provisional and subject to the final resolution. With these new grants, IDIPHISA continues to consolidate its research activity and aims to advance knowledge and healthcare.
