A 41-year-old man was arrested by the National Police on April 27 after causing a security alert on a Madrid commuter train, forcing the evacuation of the convoy and the suspension of service.

The incident occurred on the line connecting Las Matas, Príncipe Pío, Atocha, and Chamartín, eventually stopping at El Barrial Station. The situation caused moments of tension among passengers during peak hours.
The events unfolded at 7:42 AM when the 112 emergency service was alerted about an individual claiming to have a bomb on a C-10 line train bound for Atocha-Chamartín. Passengers were quickly evacuated onto the tracks as the security protocol was activated.
National Police agents, including plainclothes units and the Canine Unit, along with Samur-Civil Protection personnel, responded to the scene. After a thorough inspection of the train and the individual, who was carrying a backpack, no explosive device was found.

"Circulation was interrupted due to a “public order disturbance at El Barrial station."
