Majadahonda Honors its Patron Saint, the Santísimo Cristo de los Remedios

Majadahonda is preparing to pay homage to its Patron Saint, the Santísimo Cristo de los Remedios, with a schedule of religious events culminating in a procession on September 14th.

The devotion to the Santísimo Cristo de los Remedios, a deeply rooted veneration in the history of Majadahonda, is central to the preparations for the patronal festivities. The Brotherhood of the Santísimo Cristo de los Remedios and Virgen de la Soledad has organized the religious events, including the recent restoration of the image to ensure it is displayed in its full splendor.
The events will commence on Thursday, September 10th, at 7:30 PM with the transfer of the Santísimo Cristo de los Remedios from its Hermitage to the Parish Church of Santa Catalina Mártir. This procession will be accompanied musically by the Asociación Cultural Ateneo Noroeste.
On Friday, September 11th, at 8:00 PM, the first Triduum will be officiated by the parish vicar Víctor Castaño, followed by the presentation of medals to new members of the Brotherhood.

The parish priest Juan Francisco Pérez Ruano, in his address to the residents, emphasizes the importance of shared faith and spiritual renewal during these celebrations. He highlights that the devotion to Christ is a historical legacy and an expression of trust in Jesus Christ, calling the community to care for one another and welcome those in need.
The festivities will continue on Saturday, September 12th, with another Triduum officiated by Víctor Castaño at 8:00 PM. Sunday, September 13th, will feature the presentation of children to the Santísimo Cristo de los Remedios at 6:30 PM, followed by the Triduum at 8:00 PM.
The highlight will be on Monday, September 14th, with the Solemn High Mass at 12:00 PM and, in the afternoon, the solemn Procession of the Santísimo Cristo de los Remedios from the Parish Church of Santa Catalina Mártir to its Hermitage, again accompanied musically by the Asociación Cultural Ateneo Noroeste.
Finally, on Tuesday, September 15th, at 7:00 PM, a mass will be held in honor of the Virgen de los Dolores and for the deceased members of the Brotherhood.
