The official program, released by the Majadahonda City Council, details a wide range of activities for all ages, including musical performances, sports competitions, bullfighting events, parades, and religious celebrations. A notable new addition is the “Espacio Joven” (Youth Space), a meeting point for 12 to 17-year-olds located in the Plaza de los Jardinillos, offering music, games, and activities on September 11th, 12th, and 13th.
The festivities will officially kick off on Friday, September 11th, at 7:00 PM with the opening proclamation from the City Council balcony, followed by the procession of the Santísimo Cristo de los Remedios. On the same day, the XVII Tapas Contest will begin, running until September 20th, with the participation of numerous local establishments.
During the opening weekend, attendees can enjoy DJ performances, activities organized by local groups like La Majada and La Albarda, popular dances with the orchestra-show “La Misión” in Parque de Colón, and an exhibition of artworks from the municipal artistic heritage at the Casa de la Cultura “Carmen Conde”.
Saturday, September 12th, will feature sports events such as the “Las Rejas” Golf Championship and the XVII Inter-municipal Petanque Championship, as well as a Chess Simultaneous Exhibition. In the afternoon, the XVIII Fair of Volunteer Action Entities of Majadahonda will bring together 19 social organizations on Gran Vía, offering various workshops and activities. The day will conclude with the XVIII Majadahonda City Council Chess Tournament, the III Sonsoles Luna Karate Trophy, and concerts by the Municipal Music Band, as well as performances by Efecto Mariposa and the Tucán Brass Orchestra.
Sunday, September 13th, will host the Bicycle Festival, with different routes for all ages, and a children's show “Kids Rock Family”. The religious program will include the presentation of children to the Santísimo Cristo de los Remedios and the triduum.
The following week will see the start of the fairground attractions at the Recinto Ferial on Tuesday, September 15th, coinciding with Family Day with reduced prices. Wednesday, September 16th, will feature a Rociera Night, while from Thursday, September 17th, to Saturday, September 19th, a Medieval Market will be set up with over 90 artisan and food stalls, thematic activities, and a tourist train.
September 17th and 18th will include children's shows like “Dumbo. The Musical” and “Cinderella. The Musical”, as well as a performance by “Hija de la Luna”, a tribute to Mecano. On Friday, September 18th, there will be bull runs and releases, and the Orquesta Panorama will perform.
The final weekend, September 19th and 20th, will feature a Bullfight on Saturday, performances by Nil Moliner and Siempre Así, and on Sunday, the Bullfighter's Cut Competition, a performance by Besmaya, and the traditional stew and wine distribution. The festivities will conclude on Sunday, September 20th, with a grand fireworks display at 11:00 PM at the Cerro de la Mina, followed by the traditional “Pobre de mí”.
