The Galapagar City Council has launched an intensive surveillance campaign against dog owners who fail to collect their pets' waste, leading to the first fines of 750 euros for those who violate the regulations.

The initiative, aimed at maintaining municipal cleanliness, has been confirmed by the local Executive, dispelling rumors about its implementation. Surveillance is carried out through foot patrols and the use of drones, focusing on areas most affected by this issue.
A recent incident on Escorial Street, in front of Carlos Ruiz School, led to a 750-euro fine for an owner caught by the Local Police leaving their dog's waste uncollected. This sanction, imposed on April 7, clearly demonstrates the municipal determination.

"We have no choice but to enforce the regulations and show residents that being uncivil in Galapagar has consequences. We all want a clean and well-maintained town, and it is not fair that, due to the irresponsibility of a few, the rest of us have to see our streets in a state we do not want."

In addition to active surveillance, citizens are actively collaborating by reporting incidents through social media and the eÁgora application, which strengthens control over uncivil behavior affecting urban hygiene.
