The Galapagar City Council has allocated more than 100,000 euros for the implementation of air conditioning and shade creation measures in its educational centers, aiming to enhance student well-being as the school year nears its end and temperatures rise.

The Galapagar City Council has completed an action plan with an investment exceeding €100,000 aimed at combating high temperatures in the municipality's educational centers. These initiatives, coinciding with the final weeks of the school year and the start of summer, seek to adapt facilities and improve student comfort.
Key actions include the complete air conditioning of all classrooms in public nursery schools. Additionally, portable air conditioning units have been distributed to public schools, designed to condition common areas such as libraries and dining halls, turning them into climate refuges for students during the hottest days.
The plan also involved expanding shaded areas. New awnings have been installed in the playgrounds of CEIP Carlos Ruiz, and the south facade of the La Navata school has been shaded. Furthermore, a roof of approximately 100 square meters has been constructed at CEIP Jacinto Benavente.
The renovation of deteriorated awnings was another improvement carried out to optimize solar protection in various centers. The Councilor for Education, Beatriz Gutiérrez, emphasized the importance of planned action to prepare schools for the heat, noting that these investments benefit both students and educational staff, reinforcing the local government's commitment to improving educational infrastructure.
