The Civil Guard has carried out an operation in Galapagar resulting in the arrest of six young individuals and the investigation of three others, allegedly linked to a violent youth group and responsible for several robberies and assaults in the northwest area of the Community of Madrid.

The intervention began after several complaints were filed last March by minors, who reported being assaulted in Galapagar by a group of hooded youths. These assailants, according to testimonies, forced them to perform gestures associated with youth gangs while recording the scenes.
Concurrently, agents had already detected an increase in violent assaults in the locality, attributed to the same group and motivated by the alleged affiliation of the victims to rival gangs, as reported by the Benemérita in a statement.
As a result of the investigation, six alleged members of the group have been arrested, and three others are under investigation. Furthermore, the operation has helped clarify three aggravated robberies in mobile catering establishments and six robberies inside vehicles.

"These types of groups seek to control specific geographical areas, organizing themselves into territorial structures from which they try to expel members of rival gangs through violence, while recruiting minors to strengthen their ranks."

the Armed Institute
The Armed Institute emphasizes that belonging to such organizations can constitute a crime of integration into a criminal group, punishable by internment for minors. It is recalled that the Supreme Court confirmed in 2012 the dissolution of a similar group in the Community of Madrid, considering it an illicit association after an investigation by the Information Group of the Madrid Command.
