Construction of the new Carlos Ruiz municipal sports center in Pozuelo de Alarcón is progressing well, with completion expected before the end of the year, as reported by the City Council.

The project, which involves an investment of 14 million euros, is 50% co-financed by the Regional Investment Program (PIR) and the City Council. Recently, the mayor and the deputy minister of Presidency and Local Administration visited the complex to oversee the progress of the works.
The building, spanning over 10,000 square meters, will be divided into two areas with independent access. The public use zone will feature a heated swimming pool, changing rooms, a gym and fitness room, reception, administration, and an outdoor terrace connected to the summer pool.
The second area will be dedicated to municipal sports clubs, offering specific spaces for disciplines such as fencing, archery, karate, judo, and chess. Additionally, it will include multipurpose areas and a cafeteria for users.
This initiative aims to modernize and expand existing sports facilities, increasing the available space for year-round swimming and enabling various municipal clubs to establish their headquarters within the complex. The Consistory has highlighted that the design of the Carlos Ruiz will incorporate full accessibility and energy efficiency criteria.
