The Council is carrying out various actions in plumbing, masonry, painting, carpentry, and electricity, among others, to enhance the safety, functionality, and conservation of educational facilities. These works address the needs communicated by the schools themselves.
Among the most notable interventions are the renovation of the gymnasium floor at CEIP El Enebral and the reform of the water supply network at CEIP Miguel Delibes. The mayor, Mariola Vargas, and the Councilor for Education, Lourdes Cuesta, have visited several centers to oversee the progress of the work.
Mariola Vargas emphasized the municipal commitment to continue improving the centers, many of which were built decades ago and require repairs due to the passage of time. For her part, Lourdes Cuesta reported that many works are already completed, some are in progress, and others are in the tendering phase.
Specific actions include plumbing and masonry repairs in several schools, painting of classrooms and gyms, adjustment of blinds, lighting checks, installation of audiovisual systems and digital whiteboards, sanitation of floors and fences, and improvements to roofs and gutters. Accessibility and safety work, such as the adaptation of steps and ramps, are also being carried out.
At the La Vaca Flora Nursery School and the El Hada Tragamanzanas Children's House, repairs have been made, and a stairlift installation is planned. Other actions in the contracting phase include the installation of awnings and a new air conditioning system for the greenhouse at CPEE Peñalara.
