The Municipal Libraries and the Women's Department of the Collado Villalba City Council are commemorating Book Day, on April 23, with an initiative aimed at highlighting the work of female crime novel authors.

For this celebration, a carefully curated selection of titles available in the Libraries has been prepared, focusing on the crime novel genre. Among the featured works is La gota de sangre, published by Siruela and written by Emilia Pardo Bazán (1851-1921).
Pardo Bazán, a prolific literary figure, is recognized for having written over a thousand short stories, introducing naturalism in Spain, and being a pioneer in criminal fiction.
The Libraries and the Women's Department invite readers to explore this collection and continue discovering the creations of other prominent female crime writers, whose works are also part of the Municipal Libraries' collection.
