The Mayor of Collado Villalba participated in the Sectoral Conference on Equality, where she conveyed municipalities' concerns regarding reduced funding for the 2025 Co-responsibility Plan.
The Mayor of Collado Villalba attended the Sectoral Conference on Equality, held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Equality and chaired by Minister Ana Redondo García. This meeting, which took place on Wednesday, also included representatives from the regional ministries of Social Services and Equality from all autonomous communities, including the Minister of Family, Youth and Social Affairs of the Community of Madrid, Ana Dávila.
During the meeting, various lines of action related to equality, work-life balance, and co-responsibility policies were addressed. Mechanisms for cooperation between public administrations to promote family-oriented programs and improve local services were also analyzed.

"The reduction approved by the Council of Ministers represents a significant decrease in resources for the municipalities of the Community of Madrid."
The Mayor, who also chairs the Equality Commission of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), intervened to express the concern of Spanish local councils regarding the cut in state funding for the 2025 Co-responsibility Plan. This tool is essential for fostering family and work-life balance, as well as promoting equal opportunities.
According to the data presented, the reduction amounts to almost 5.5 million euros compared to the previous year, decreasing from over 18.4 million euros in 2024 to approximately 13 million in 2025. This decrease occurs despite an increase in the number of local councils adhering to the program.

"It is essential to strengthen institutional coordination between the Government of Spain, the autonomous communities, and local entities to promote effective measures that are close to the real needs of citizens."
The municipal representative emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination between the Government of Spain, autonomous communities, and local entities to implement effective policies tailored to citizens' needs. She also highlighted the crucial role of local councils as the administration closest to residents, essential for developing social policies and initiatives that promote equal opportunities and work-life balance.
Finally, a greater foresight in fund allocation was requested, with earlier calls for proposals and clear criteria for municipal projects. The objective is to ensure the stability of programs and avoid uncertainty in the economic management of local councils.
