The Collado Villalba City Council has announced 350 euros in aid for families who have, adopt, or foster a child or baby, aiming to support them in a context of declining birth rates and rising prices.

This initiative, which will have an annual budget of up to 150,000 euros from municipal funds, seeks to alleviate the expenses associated with the arrival of a new family member. To qualify for the aid, at least one parent must have been continuously registered in Collado Villalba for ten years. Additionally, the entire family unit must reside in the municipality, own or rent a home in the locality (or be a first-degree relative of someone who does), and be up to date with municipal taxes.
In this first edition, families who have welcomed a new baby, adopted, or begun fostering a minor between October 1, 2025, and September 30, 2026, will be eligible. The call for applications will be annual.

"With this initiative, Collado Villalba is committed to families and the future, something we can be very proud of, in a context of declining birth rates across Spain. With this measure, we want to help families minimize the expenses involved in the birth of a child, especially in a difficult economic context due to rising prices from the current international situation."

To streamline the application process, a new automated procedure has been implemented through the City Council's Electronic Headquarters, allowing residents to submit applications quickly and accessibly. According to the Finance councilor, in-person assistance will also be available at the Secretariat, located on the first floor of the City Council.

"A specific office has been set up because we understand that these are families coming with a newborn child, who need peace of mind to have the process explained correctly, although it is very simple. The Secretariat officials will attend to them, check their documents, and explain if anything is missing and how to obtain it, although most of the documentation will be provided ex officio by the City Council."
