This new infrastructure, which will be integrated into the C-4b line, addresses a historical demand from the municipality and aims to improve mobility in a constantly growing area. The project will be developed by ADIF in coordination with the Tres Cantos City Council.
The strategic location of the future station is key, as it is situated in an area that concentrates important facilities such as an audiovisual hub, a university campus, sports facilities, and a hospital. Furthermore, it will facilitate connection with new residential developments planned in the vicinity, adapting public services to the city's urban growth and improving connectivity with the metropolitan area.
The station's design includes a functional and accessible passenger building, with two lateral platforms of 220 meters and an underpass connecting both sides. The space will feature a spacious lobby, passenger service areas, self-service machines, staff offices, and complementary services such as a cafeteria.
The station will be configured as a multimodal transport hub, offering various mobility options. It will include a park-and-ride facility spanning over 18,000 square meters, with nearly 800 parking spaces for vehicles and motorcycles. It will also have bays for shuttle buses, stops for urban and interurban buses, a specific area for passenger drop-off and pick-up, a taxi stand, and bicycle parking. The surrounding area will incorporate pedestrian green zones, outdoor sports facilities, administrative buildings, a nursery school, and commercial areas.
The Tres Cantos City Council will continue to collaborate with ADIF during the execution of the works, especially in adapting access points and urbanizing the surroundings, to ensure proper integration of the station with the rest of the city and promote more efficient and sustainable mobility.
