The San Sebastián de los Reyes City Council has reported the removal of over 37,000 kilos of illegal waste in 2025, intensifying control and sanction measures in its rural roads.

The municipality of San Sebastián de los Reyes has released its report on actions against illegal dumping, revealing that in 2025, a total of 37,160 kilos of waste were removed from its rural roads. This figure represents the largest volume recorded since the start of the municipal campaign, which aims to preserve the natural environment and curb these harmful practices.
The campaign, initiated at the beginning of the current term, has so far accumulated over 77,800 kilos of waste removed from various areas of the municipality. The annual evolution of dumping shows an upward trend, with a significant increase in the last year.

In total, the accumulated amount of waste collected on rural roads amounts to 77,860 kilos, with specific interventions in different parts of the municipality for its removal.
Regarding sanctioning measures, during 2025, 180 files were processed by the Urban Discipline department, of which 25 were directly related to illegal dumping in rural areas. These actions are supported by the work of the Local Police's Environmental Unit, responsible for surveillance, identification, and reporting of offenders.
So far in 2026, 13 sanctioning files have already been initiated for similar behaviors. Additionally, specific actions have been carried out to remove waste in areas such as Camino de Pesadilla and the surroundings of the Fresno Norte urbanization. The City Council remains committed to reinforcing surveillance on rural roads to prevent new dumping and penalize those responsible, with the aim of protecting the natural environment and preventing the deterioration of public spaces.
