This initiative, presented by the City Council, will mobilize funds between 2026 and 2027 to undertake the largest urban redevelopment in the town's history. The actions will cover public roads, green areas, and facilities, with the goal of modernizing the environment and adapting it to the current needs of residents.
The plan is structured around three main areas: approximately 18 million euros will be allocated to urban remodeling, 1.6 million to asphalt and paving, and 9.5 million to interventions related to Public Services.
From the Urban Development, Works, and Mobility department, street renovations, accessibility improvements, and enhanced pedestrian safety are planned. The modernization of street lighting and urban furniture is also included. A key new feature is the creation of segregated bike lanes to promote more sustainable mobility, with interventions in crucial areas such as avenida de Colmenar Viejo, avenida de Viñuelas, the city center, El Pinar, Cineastas, Soto de Viñuelas, and the Salón Urbano.
Regarding Public Services, the 9.5 million euro investment will focus on increasing tree planting, improving water efficiency, and installing ornamental fountains. Additionally, new community areas will be created, the urban landscape will be renewed, and efficient lighting systems with LED technology will be implemented.
Among the projects already underway are Parque Paraninfo, envisioned as a major endowment center, and new recreational areas in Metropolitan Park, as well as children's zones in various sectors of the city. Landscaping work is also being carried out in areas such as Embarcaciones, avenida de la Vega, and the northern part of the municipality, as part of a continuous strategy to improve public spaces.
