This initiative, developed in collaboration with the Autonomous University of Madrid, aims to promote continuous learning and facilitate access to knowledge for older adults. The current offering is structured around two academic proposals covering areas such as creativity, emotional well-being, and art history.
One of the ongoing courses is 'Psychology and Music: Harmonies for Personal Development', which takes place on Wednesday mornings. This training explores the connection between emotions, personality, and artistic expression through music, with a focus on emotional well-being. It currently has 13 enrolled students.
The second program, 'Art in the Peninsular Middle Ages: Christian Kingdoms and Al-Andalus', is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the afternoon. This course offers a multidisciplinary analysis of medieval artistic diversity in the Iberian Peninsula and has attracted 23 participants.
Both activities are hosted at Factoría Cultural, a venue that supports this educational initiative through institutional collaboration. The Tres Cantos City Council highlights the excellent reception of the UAM+50 Classroom, confirming the community's interest in such training programs. The council is already working with the UAM+50 program management to define new themes and expand the educational offerings for the next academic year, adapting to local demands.
